It’s now easier than ever before to submit your entry for an esteemed Nigels Award, with a new streamlined format and two fresh award categories.
PASA’s Annual Procurement in Practice Awards – renamed “The Nigels” in memory of PASA’s late founder Nigel Wardropper – are a prestigious recognition of best practice in procurement.
Joining PASA’s long-standing primary award – The Most Improved Procurement Team – this year welcomes ‘The Best Procurement Project Delivery 2025’ and ‘The Most Impactful ESG Procurement Project 2025’ categories.
Ready to submit your entry? All you need to do is complete a short online form and submit a 12-slide PowerPoint presentation (a template is provided). That’s it. No essays required here!
The peer-reviewed winners will be announced at The 13th Annual PASA Premier Confex, which will take place on 15-16 October at the Flemington Racecourse Conference Centre in Melbourne.
The top three shortlisted finalists in each category will present their 10-minute case study entries live in person, in the plenary session of the largest and most influential procurement event in the ANZ region.
The winners are then chosen by audience peers, ensuring the judging process is completely democratic and not subject to any commercial conflict of interest.
Entrants will also gain access to coaching from Paul Rogers FCIPS, who will provide support in both content and delivery, drawing upon his four-decade experience in procurement and expertise in presentation and interpersonal skills.
More about the awards
Never sponsored but presented solely in PASA’s name, the coveted ‘Most Improved Procurement Team’ award recognises the greatest improvement in a procurement team’s capability – through either people, process, technology, strategic, organisational or cultural improvement, or just good leadership, specifically recognisable in the previous year.
It reflects Nigel Wardropper’s strong passion that relative improvement is a greater prize than scale or inherited corporate capability. This category can recognise any procurement team of any size and any length of tenure.
Now for the new ones…
The Best Procurement Project Delivery 2025
This category is open to mature procurement projects that have gone beyond planning and are at the stage of execution, and may have begun (or completed) delivering results. The focus is on implementation, execution and overcoming challenges to deliver tangible results. A “procurement project” could include a complex RFP, organisational development, the implementation of a new solution or any project where there is merit in the delivery phase of the project.
Most Impactful ESG Project 2025
This category is open to mature ESG projects that have delivered results, meaning that the focus needs to be on demonstrating tangible outcomes. This is the chance to share specific ESG objectives and impressive results.
Why enter?
Recognising excellence in the procurement profession, the Nigels are a great way to showcase inspiring stories about procurement, from which others can learn.
You’ll be contributing to a respected event, in memory of someone who made a difference, while encouraging good leadership qualities from your team and improving your presentation skills.
