Uniting’s Head of Procurement releases fifth thriller novel

Cavalier

Head of Procurement by day, award-winning and Amazon best-selling author by night, Uniting’s Chris Heptinstall has released his fifth novel ‘Cavalier’ under the pseudonym Christopher Hepworth.

Set in the Red House Boarding School in Yorkshire, and unfolding across three different time zones, Cavalier is the latest thriller in Chris’s acclaimed crime conspiracy series, which follows the adventures of lead character Sam.

Red House, the stately home of a nobleman beheaded for his loyalty to a King, holds the key to Britain’s past, present and future.

Stories of a witch burning, a bloody Civil War and a school once famed for sending its best and brightest to the far corners of the Empire, compel Rebecca Vavasour to investigate the theft of her ancestral home and the murder of a young woman four centuries ago.

As a young matron at a boy’s boarding school, and then as an aspiring politician three decades later, Rebecca finally uncovers the mysteries of Red House’s gruesome past. But its crumbling priest holes and labyrinth of secret passageways reveal much more than the name of her ancestor’s brutal murderer.

With the reluctant aid of a former star pupil who has done his best to forget the school’s brutal legacy, they uncover a plot by puritanical former students of Red House to return Britain to a Cromwellian-style military dictatorship – and the elimination of those who stand in their way has already begun…
