Last week, PASA hosted the Strategic Procurement Leadership Programme between 6-8 December, providing delegates with over 12 hours of expert content.
Delivered online by Jonathan Dutton FCIPS, CEO of PASA, who has developed and delivered training courses for leading organisations over the past 30 years, the fully revised and updated programme offered training to procurement professionals who are ready to move from transactional procurement to a more strategic approach.
Addressing major questions facing the procurement profession with strategic solutions in a post-Covid landscape, the course focused on providing emerging procurement leaders with the mindset, practical tools and procurement techniques needed to take the next step immediately.
Delivered in eight key sections, the programme covered procurement leadership and the role of modern procurement and supply management post-Covid.
At the end of the three short online days, delegates left with an understanding of the context and complexity within which modern strategic procurement has to deliver and meet stakeholder needs.
They had also acquired a thorough grasp of the essentials and the process of a strategic approach to procurement, with the confidence to be able to manage suppliers in this way, as well as the ability to utilise a core range of strategic procurement tools and techniques.
Commenting on this year’s programme, Jonathan Dutton said: “This was the 50th time I have delivered this course across six countries. It is designed to uplift thinking from the transactional to the strategic, and it is the 49th time it has been updated – just, this time, quite radically for the post-Covid period. We aim to explore current best practices in our VUCA world and link them back to core theory to understand the strategy behind what’s happening and why.”
