Schneider Electric, the leading global provider of energy management and automation solutions, has claimed the top spot in the prestigious Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2023.
This recognition comes as a result of Schneider’s commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction through The Zero Carbon Project.
By working closely with suppliers, Schneider successfully implemented a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions and provided resources and support to drive collective progress. By the end of 2022, Schneider’s suppliers achieved an impressive 10% reduction in carbon emissions, contributing significantly to Schneider’s own supply chain carbon footprint goals.
Building on this success, Schneider Electric continues to drive transformational change through its STRIVE program, focusing on sustainability, trust, resilience, intelligence, velocity, and efficiency. Congratulations to Schneider Electric for leading the way in sustainable supply chain management.
The Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 is a renowned annual ranking of the world’s superior supply chains.
The Supply Chain Top 25 ranking comprises two main components: business performance and opinion. Business performance in the form of public financial and ESG (environmental, social, governance) data provides a view into how companies have performed in the past three years, while the opinion component offers an eye to future potential and reflects leadership in the supply chain community.
Cisco Systems placed second which capped a run of three consecutive years in the top position, while Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson and PepsiCo rounded out the top five positions. Tesla, AB Inbev, GlaxoSmithKline and Dow were the new entrants on the list.
Key trends among leaders
Gartner three trends to be apparent among the top 25:
- Identify and seize new opportunities
- Drive collective progress
- Transform how organisations work
“The leading companies on our list are notable for pursuing new avenues of growth at a time when disruptions remain a near constant threat,” said Mike Griswold, vice president team manager with the Gartner Supply Chain practice. “The best supply chain organizations are embracing the moment by both pursuing growth, while also evolving more sophisticated risk management approaches.”
