Free white paper: How procurement can become more agile.

A new era for procurement.

Agile procurement is a mindset, not a process. It is a new way to make your organisation’s procurement process faster and more responsive.

PASA Agile is your team of experts to meet your agile procurement needs through training workshops and coaching.

Through accredited Lean Agile Procurement Workshops and coaching on real-time agile procurement sourcing projects, we can support you to make procurement easier.

Internationally accredited

PASA Agile is accredited by the Switzerland-based Lean Agile Procurement Alliance to train and coach procurement managers throughout Australia and New Zealand in agile procurement.

Lean Agile Procurement (LAP) is built on the principles of the Agile business philosophy which originally brought continuous and incremental improvement to IT projects. This ‘agile’ approach was fused with the procurement process to create Lean Agile Procurement.

How agile is disrupting traditional procurement

LAP is revolutionising the supply side sourcing process. It fuses the agile principles with procurement process. In in doing so, LAP is disrupting the procurement approach and its two most long-standing challenges – its slow speed and the fickleness of stakeholders relationships.

Agile procurement training with PASA

PASA Agile offers short agile training workshops for foundation level one certification in agile procurement (LAP 1). This is complimented by other workshops and a more advanced level two certification (LAP2).

Our Big Room Simulation Workshop is an in-person interactive engagement workshop run over half a day.

Get started with the LAP level one credential.

Begin with PASA Agile’s Lean Agile Procurement 1 (LAP1) credential and become an LAP specialist. Learn how to apply agile to procurement, including running the highly effective ‘Big Room’ which brings buyers and suppliers together instantly. The course is completed online over three consecutive days each involving four-hours of learning.

  • Understand what agile and lean-agile procurement are and when they would be applicable – in both a private and public sector context
  • How to use and leverage hands-on agile techniques to conduct more effective and responsive procurement
  • How the ‘Big Room’ workshop works and how it fits into a LAP procurement process
  • How to become more competitive by significantly reducing procurement timeframes and driving greater innovation

Graduates can also attend free PASA Agile alumni meet-ups and attend LAP2 and the Big Room Simulation Workshop.

Master LAP with a Level 2 credential.

On completion of LAP 1, you can train to become a ‘Master of LAP’ by completing the LAP2 credential.

LAP2 guides you over a longer period and includes a range of interactions and learning tools – like a blended learning programme.

Complete more formal learning structures and self-study supported by one-on-one coaching. Participants are encouraged to align their LAP learning with actual projects and circumstances in their own organisations.

Builds on the agile procurement practitioner’s understanding of LAP 1 to specifically include both negotiations and agile agreements as well as the agile procurement ‘Big Room’ execution. LAP2 also includes individual coaching sessions online with Mirko Kleiner, founder of LAP.

You master:

  • how to conduct agile conversations and negotiations
  • how to complete agile agreements and contracting

Attend a half-day Big Room Simulation Workshop.

The LAP1 training workshop covers the lead-up and preparation for the ‘Big Room’ Supplier Engagement Workshop.

This workshop leads you through a four-hour online simulation of an actual Big Room event. Up to five suppliers in the room will simultaneously compete for your business – instead of a traditional written tender.

  • understand the requirements to run a successful Big Room workshop
  • learn the role of the facilitator
  • master how to brief suppliers and get their buy-in
  • unravel how the Big Room works in practice
  • try the techniques to run your next Big Room autonomously

Run an agile project.

Access an internationally-accredited Agile coach for your project on either a fixed fee or hourly/daily rate basis.

Our agile procurement coaches remove the need to train members of your own team. They will help guide the understanding and practice required to run a formal agile procurement project.

Our coaches bring extensive experience from other Agile projects – often facing similar scenarios – and are experts in all aspects of the Agile methodology.

Using a comprehensive toolkit of Agile techniques and a skillset enables them to deploy the right approach at the right time in a procurement context.

Each of our team are expert in one or more facets of Agile Procurement and are all expert in the Lean Agile Procurement (LAP) Alliance developed framework for Agile Procurement.

Using this IP, PASA AGILE will help you find the right approach to secure the outcome you desire. And whether a pure Agile approach is needed, a classic procurement strategy or a fusion of the two.

Have your team trained

We can also both train and coach your team to a level of proficiency themselves. Skills and knowledge transfer is a core theme of the agile business philosophy and something that all of our coaches practice.

Faster time to value

We aim to reduce go-to-market sourcing time from nine months to nine weeks.

More responsive procurement

Large and complex procurement projects need to respond quickly to changing needs.

No cutting corners

Full compliance and procurement process is respected throughout the project.

Lower costs

Cut the management time of a traditional sourcing approach and cut supplier's cost of sale.

Lean Agile Procurement has helped us to shape significant change in individuals, teams, organisations and supply chains within the energy industry.
