It is with great sadness that PASA reports the passing of Louise Hope.
Louise (known as Lou to many) served the University of Queensland (UQ) as the leader of the Procurement and Payment Services team, more recently taking on the role of Strategic Delivery and Innovation Associate Director.
Louise is remembered by her colleagues and friends for her passion and integrity; a fiercely loyal leader who put her heart and soul into everything she did, providing guidance and mentorship that helped launch the careers of many at UQ.
Described as positive, funny and kind, with a zest for life and a sense of adventure, Louise was known for her immense support and encouragement, whether engaging in a complicated business process or fundraising for charity events.
“Louise was a great leader at UQ and meant so much to so many people, her legacy will live on for a very, very long time here,” said Andrew Ferguson, Procurement Manager at the University of Queensland.
Amy Barton, PASA’s Member Liaison Manager, holds fond memories of Louise, revealing how much she meant to the PASA team and wider community.
“Louise was a huge presence in PASA, both in person and online, quickly moving from professional connection to a friend for so many,” she said.
“She lit up any room she entered and was well loved and respected by members and PASA staff alike.”
Louise studied at UQ’s Law School and previously held several positions at Suncorp, accumulating almost three decades of experience in the legal and procurement fields.
We extend our deepest condolences to Louise’s family, friends and colleagues.
Vale Louise Hope.
