In memory of Chris Clements

Chris Clements

It is with great sadness that PASA reports the passing of Chris Clements.

Chris passed away peacefully on Friday 28 February, following a brave three-year battle with bowel cancer, which he documented on his LinkedIn page with courage, humour and positivity.

Chris served as Senior Partner, Global Procurement Lead at KPMG Australia, bringing over 25 years of global experience, with a focus on transforming supply chain, procurement and supplier risk functions.

With qualifications in industrial engineering from the University of Johannesburg and an MBA from the University of West London, Chris was part of the KPMG family for almost 17 years, holding previous positions at A.T. Kearney and the Portland Group.

Jonathan Dutton, PASA’s Chief Content Creator, holds fond memories of Chris.

“Chris was a friend of PASA and the profession at large. His LinkedIn posts in recent times were always positive, and it was easy to get the idea that he was on the mend, though sadly not. Chris’s passing will create a huge loss throughout the wider procurement community,” he said.

Lesley Wardropper, PASA’s Managing Director, shared this sentiment.

“Chris provided such insightful content and thoughts. I join the wider procurement community in lamenting his passing – unfortunately, yet another person taken too soon,” she said.

In lieu of flowers, Chris’s loved ones have requested donations on his behalf to the San Foundation, where they will work alongside Cancer Services to direct funds towards a cause that honours his memory.

“Since Chris’s devastating diagnosis almost three years ago, he has fought with incredible strength, doing everything possible to overcome this relentless disease and be here for his family,” said a notice via San Foundation.

“Despite the many obstacles he faced, his unwavering optimism, resilience and courage were a constant source of inspiration to everyone around him. His family is deeply proud of the person he was and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.”

We extend our deepest condolences to Chris’s family, friends and KPMG colleagues.

Vale Chris Clements.
