The airlines give you discounts – great. But unless you have the base fares, fare type availabilities and an appropriate assessment model, you will not get anywhere close to a meaningful comparison.
Many travel category managers think that airline sourcing is mainly about increasing the discounts. Wrong!
Discount improvements are a minor factor. The result can only be found by properly calculating the value of the deals and the total savings they deliver. It’s about hitting on the right deal components for targeted improvements. It’s about putting together the best mix of offers.
Tony O’Connor, who has been managing airline tenders since 1998, will deliver a short sharp 30 minutes of useful category management advice with on-screen examples to help you maximize your next airline deal.
