City of Sydney seeks new Chief Procurement Officer

Sydney

The City of Sydney is searching for an accomplished Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead a values-driven, high-impact procurement function that delivers meaningful and tangible outcomes for Sydney’s people, places and future.

The full-time, hybrid role offers an attractive annual salary of $250,000 to $260,000, along with additional leave options, a supportive and inclusive culture, and a centrally located workplace in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Tasked with setting the strategic direction for procurement and contract management across the organisation, whilst promoting innovation, value for money and sustainable approaches, the incoming CPO will lead procurement transformation, build organisation-wide procurement and contract management capability, establish collaborative stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships, and lead organisation-wide governance and risk frameworks – all in line with the Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050 Continuing the Vision.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic procurement leader with hands-on experience leading procurement teams in complex environments who can also demonstrate the capability to drive transformation, change and continuous improvement.

The ability to influence, collaborate and build trust at the executive and stakeholder levels is also highly desired, as is a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
