Axis Group International on Perth’s Big Breakfast

Kobus Van Der Wath

This year’s sold out Perth Big Breakfast was a huge success with 70 attendees gathering to connect, share and learn together as peers on 10th August at The Duxton Hotel on the Terrace.

It was a great four hours of content, featuring a jam-packed program that covered the issues facing procurement now and in the future – and what to do about them in practice.

We heard from several leading procurement practitioners and organisations, who shared their insights and real-world case studies, including Wesfarmers, the WA PTA, Bidwrite and Axis Group International, as well as revered former CPO and now consultant, Kevin McCafferty.

Here’s what our Gold Sponsor had to say:

Axis Group International, a DP World Company, was delighted to be a Gold Sponsor at the PASA Big Breakfast that took place at the Duxton Hotel in Perth, Australia.

“Axis Group CEO Kobus Van Der Wath shared his perspectives on strategic imperatives for procurement executives given the shifting trade landscape, while Rachel Wu, Managing Director: Global Procurement & Supply, discussed how selecting and managing the right suppliers is crucial in driving value.”

Meanwhile, Kevin McCafferty – Former CPO at Qantas, Fortescue, Ventia and Railcorp – spoke about how delivering value beyond cost has always been the defining challenge facing procurement leaders.

David Lunn – Co-Founder and Principal at BidWrite – gave a supplier viewpoint with feedback on how they perceive procurement including how they can add more value for busy buyers, Amanda Bradley – CPO Public Transport Authority at WA Govt – talked about the articulation of value in public sector procurement, and Stephen Turner – Group Procurement Manager at Wesfarmers – explained how one of Australia’s biggest companies is addressing the challenge of delivering value beyond cost.

Our own CEO, Jonathan Dutton, also briefly chipped in with the four unavoidable questions facing procurement throughout 2023 and how to craft your procurement L&D plan for the post-Covid era.

Did you miss out? We’ll be back in Perth next year with even more procurement networking and knowledge, so watch this space and save the date for 15th August 2024.
