A little bit of old and a lot of new!

Somebody asked me last week whether 2020 will just be ‘more of the same’ or will it bring ‘something new’. My answer was that it will be “a bit of the former and plenty of the latter”.

Our traditional conference schedule will continue to provide buyers and suppliers with excellent opportunities to come together to meet and learn. The year kicks off with the PASA Electricity Forum and ProcureTECH in Sydney next month. You can see the full 2020 schedule here

And the rest is new!

If you would like to know how you or your procurement colleagues can cost-effectively get out of the bubble of your own organisation to learn with and from other procurement professionals and independent experts please drop me a line at the email address below. The PASA CONNECT membership network has received some significant enhancements that will provide members with even better outcomes.

Last year we introduced Lean-agile Procurement (LAP) to the local market, generating high levels of interest.  2020 will see the launch of ‘PASA Agile’, providing coaching, training and consulting services to assist and enable you to make a real difference by adopting agile principles.  March 2020 we will again be running Lean-Agile Procurement (LAP) Certification workshops, with Mirko Kleiner, the founder of the Lean Agile Procurement movement.

We have also been hard at work on a number of new training and development initiatives focussed on skills that have not been part of the traditional procurement curriculum. In addition, the training will be delivered using a mix of new and traditional formats that will deliver you considerably enhanced results.  Full details will be published here in the next couple of weeks.

As many of you may recall, we often start the year by announcing our ‘theme’ for the year. In recent years these themes have been ‘Entrepreneurial Procurement’, ‘Improving the customer experience’, ‘Unlocking Value through Collaboration’ and ‘Creating Procurement Value through Alignment’. We are not going to announce the 2020 theme just yet, as we want to conduct a significant research exercise before finalising it. This research will not be with you, but with your stakeholders.

Look out for further information on this coming shortly.

And there’s more…….

We are also quietly beavering away on a couple of other new initiatives to help procurement, but I am going to keep my powder dry on them for the moment.

We hope 2020 looks as exciting for you as it does for us and look forward to working with you throughout the year.

Sending our best wishes to you for a fantastic 2020 from the PASA team,

Nigel Wardropper
