3rd Annual PASA Procurement Awards

The PASA Procurement Awards were launched in 2016 to identify and recognize those organisations, from both the buy and supply sides, who have demonstrated excellence to drive new value for their organisation or customers.

The 2018 Awards will focus on the 2018 theme of ‘Improving Customer Experience’

Best example of improved customer experience

This award is open to the procurement team that demonstrates the best example of improved customer experience. This may refer to how procurement is lifting its game to provide better experiences to either internal stakeholders or suppliers. A more detailed explanation of the customer experience theme can be found here

In assessing the award, we will primarily be considering the status quo at the beginning of the project, how your procurement team recognised the need to improve your customers experience, how you planned and executed the changes, and of course the hopefully positive outcomes.

Entrepreneurial Supplier of the Year

This award is for an individual or organisation on the supply side of the equation who has demonstrated entrepreneurial behaviour in driving value for a customer. This may be a supplier of goods or services, or indeed a supplier of services in support of the procurement function. In assessing the award, we will again consider not only how innovative the solution might be, but also those other entrepreneurial attributes eg risk management, courage, insight, curiosity, knowledge, leadership, inspiration, passion and resilience – to name just a few!

How are we defining ‘entrepreneurial’?

To be entrepreneurial means not only to find new, different or better ways of doing something, but to be prepared to take the risk of failure in any given project. In order to be entrepreneurial, people need to have curiosity, knowledge, courage, insight, passion, leadership, inspiration, tenacity, resilience, powers of persuasion and stakeholder management to both initiate the idea and then drive it through to successful completion.
This applies to both individuals and, most importantly, to the organisations they work for who need to walk the walk on creating a culture that encourages entrepreneurial behaviour.

The Nomination Process

For both Awards, there is a simple nomination form to complete which is broken down into 3 sections:

  • Section 1 – person/organisation details
  • Section 2 – A written submission of no more than 2000 words
  • Section 3 – Any relevant additional information



Finalists for this Award will be notified by Friday 19th October and will receive an invitation to ‘pitch’ their submission to the audience at The 6th Annual PASA Premier ConfeX on 20th & 21st November at Melbourne Olympic Park Function Centre, with the audience invited to vote to decide the eventual winners.
