Perth and Melbourne based corporate travel agency Globetrotter Travel has received the Fairfare accreditation from independent airfare audit specialist Airocheck.
It is the second Travel Management Company in Australia to receive certification after CTM Australia was awarded the certificate in November.
The Airocheck Fairfare certificate is awarded based on a rigorous audit process. The detailed audit is conducted using data directly from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or ARC. This base settlement “data-of-truth” is decoded by Airocheck’s software and made suitable for use.
The base data is then compared and analysed against bookings data. No data used includes personal information at the company or traveller level.
Accreditation is valid for one year from May 8th 2018, and during the accreditation period, Airocheck may conduct spot checks to ensure the continuation of good practice.
Airocheck Co-Founder and Joint CEO Tony O’Connor says “Globetrotter proved that it does not systematically add arbitrary mark-ups to airfares in the fare creation and quotation process across all of its bookings, with a highly positive audit result based on a thorough process.
Their success also demonstrates that the audit process is viable for mid-sized and smaller TMCs that wish to demonstrate good practice.
