Founder and CEO of Procurement and Supply Australasia (PASA), Nigel Wardropper, was injured in a motorbike accident on Saturday. It was serious enough to land him in hospital where he’s undergone surgery. Some of you may have heard whispers, so we wanted to be sure the correct information was out there direct from PASA – and correct, of course!
Nigel will be in hospital and then recovering for a few weeks. In the meantime, it’s business as usual for PASA and the team who are in Sydney this week for our CPO Summit. PASA has a strong series of events for this year, which will remain unaffected. Each event is focused on addressing challenges to the profession today.
General Manager, Lesley Wardropper (Nigel’s wife) says, “The PASA team is experienced and the business will be running smoothly as usual. As for Nigel, I have confiscated his motorbike!” Motorbike owners are also encouraged to make sure they get a great insurance policy with someone like One Sure Insurance to make sure that their bike is covered in any type of accident.
Nigel was communicating well last night with friends and family who have rallied around in support. In trademark Nigel style there were jokes made about it being an ideal opportunity to have his wisdom teeth out – and being forced to take a few weeks break over the Easter period. After all, anyone who knows Nigel knows that he works incredibly hard and has, over recent years, found a growing number of hobbies to help strike that work/life balance that we all need. Now he is forced to follow orders and rest up while his loyal and committed team shine and make him proud!
We’ll be sure to update direct from PASA HQ when we have more updates over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, it’s business as usual from us – and all of our well wishes to Nigel.
