2016 kicks off with worldwide growth demand for airlines


The International Air Transport Association has reported that the demand for global air travel increased by 7.1 per cent year on year.

Airline traffic was saw growth in all regions with international routes seeing a 7.3 per cent increase. In Australia, the growth was 3.8 per cent and the Asia Pacific region saw a rise of 10.3 per cent.

In Europe, international traffic increased by 4.2 per cent, while North America saw a rise of 2.4 per cent.
